The Ministry of Social Development organizes parenting workshops

The Department of Social Development and Family Services has announced the start of its Parenting and Domestic Violence Workshop Series for the period September 20-October 31.

According to a press release, the sessions will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with all COVID-19 protocols observed.

The ministry noted that all men and women who are biological parents, step-parents, adoptive parents, foster parents, caregivers, guardians, grandparents or others interested in parenting are invited to participate.

The ministry added that as part of its ongoing partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the ministry will work closely with police youth clubs within the three communities to ensure a Enhanced security and better safety for all participants.

The release notes that parenting workshops have become an annual staple of the ministry’s calendar and aim to raise awareness and equip parents, guardians and pregnant people with the knowledge and skills to make responsible decisions about safety and health. well-being of the children in their care.
